Der Beginn ist jeweils am Donnerstag, wenn der im Käfigturm gefangene Bär mit der «Ychüblete» (Eintrommeln) aus dem Winterschlaf geweckt und befreit wird.
«Guggenmusik-Cliquen» (fasnächtliche Musikformationen) bringen mit ihrer Kakophonie wohl auch den ruhigsten Schweizer zum feiern.
Am Freitagnachmittag ist dann Kinderfasnacht mit dem Umzug im Mittelpunkt. Am Samstagnachmittag, um 14.30 Uhr, beginnt der grosse Umzug mit 60 bis 70 Gruppen und wie man hört 50'000 begeisterten Zuschauern, welche die Gassen der Altstadt voll machen.
Anschliessend folgt das grosse Monsterkonzert, überall gibt es Strassentheater und Gassenmusik.
Auch wenn ich ja begeisterter Karnevalist bin, bin ich mir noch nicht ganz sicher ob ich dem Treiben bei wohnen werde. Mal schaun.
